Adults with disabilities, such as intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, and traumatic brain injuries, are an underserved community and seek the same things as neurotypical people yet are often not afforded the same opportunities. Adults with disabilities often need extra support to meet their goals, become independent, and find employment, and at Vocational Solutions of Henderson County in East Flat Rock, North Carolina, we provide the necessary training and support needed for this community.
We are a non-profit organization that is internationally accredited that seeks to help adults with disabilities reach their full potential and achieve their goals. We offer many different programs to enhance quality of life and maximize the independence of our clients. Each person who comes to us for assistance will first receive an evaluation to assess their baseline skills – social, verbal, mental, physical, and emotional – to see what kind of support we can best provide. Some of the different types of classes and training we offer for adults with disabilities include vocational training, day programs, life-skills classes, cooking classes, and employment through industrial outsourcing contracts we hold with local businesses to allow them to outsource work to provide employment for our clients.
Our mission is simple – to help those in need succeed – and with the support of our community, we can continue to provide services to improve the quality of life for adults with disabilities. Our effective programs promote independence, confidence, and self-reliance among our clients, and having community support is paramount for us. Please reach out if you would like more information about our programs, would like to become a donor, or want more information about our industrial outsourcing contracts.
