Ricky Sparks was a man beloved by all who met him. One of the original clients of Vocational Solutions, he loved coming to work every day, playing baseball, fishing, and cheering on the Hendersonville Bearcats. Tragically, Ricky and his mother were killed several years ago.
In honor of Ricky, his siblings Brenda Sparks McCleerey and Jim Sparks have started a fund to to help clients with financial needs outside of their normal funding streams. The fund will also be used to assist individual clients in need; or for the happiness, safety, or well being of all clients while at Vocational Solutions.
A client, client family member, or staff member can make requests for funds in writing to the program director. An approval committee consisting of the executive director, program director, and controller of Vocational Solutions will review the application and make a determination regarding the appropriateness of the request. If the request is granted, procedures will be followed for disbursement of funds.
A beautiful wood and glass case containing pictures of Ricky as well as his baseball bat has been made and donated by Sam Samotis of Samotis Custom Woodworks. This touching memorial to Ricky is on display at Vocational Solutions.
