We help people with disabilities develop skills to meet the demands of employment.
At Vocational Solutions of Henderson County, our programs provide services to disabled adults who have adequate adaptive and motor skills to train for employment and volunteer opportunities in a structured, closely supervised setting. We design our programs to meet the varying needs of our program participants and promote personal development by maximizing independent, functional ability, and exposure to real-life activities.
The main objectives of our personal development programs are as follows:
- To provide a range of skilled training activities that enrich our participants’ quality of life.
- To provide a safe, fun, and meaningful environment that can give every program participant guidance and choices.
- To build upon authentic daily living experiences while promoting a sense of responsibility and basic work habits.
- To prepare our program members for participation in consistent, independent employment.
Through our personal development programs, adults with disabilities can receive pre-vocational skills training, social skills training, independent living skills support, and community integration assistance. We believe every individual in our program has the potential to maximize their skills and fully integrate into the Mills River, North Carolina community.
You can support our personal development program by having your business establish an outsourcing labor contract with us, or by becoming a donor. If you have questions about how we support disabled adults with personal development or want to take a tour of our facility, please contact us today.
