The fiscal year for Vocational Solutions ended on June 30, 2015 and we are pleased to report the following results:
- We served an average of 21 clients each month through our Adult Developmental Vocational Program
- We served an average of 21 clients each month through our North Carolina Innovations Direct Care Program
- We served an average of 11 clients each month through our Vocational Evaluation Program
- We increased our industrial partnerships and our current business partners include General Electric, Borg Warner, Elkamet, Prince Manufacturing, Selee, Wilsonart, Flymen Fishing, Fatz, Medical Action and PMA Tools
Our programs were very effective. We believe our clients achieved:
- Increased work and social skills
- Increased earnings potential through skill development and work opportunities
- Increased self esteem and independence
- Increased quality of life
Vocational Solutions is a member of the Marketing Association of Rehabilitation Centers (MARC) for our region and includes 15 organizations across the 23 Western North Carolina Counties. The positive impact of the MARC organization reflects the power of a collaborative effort by people united in their mission to offer career and life skills training for adults with disabilities.
- MARC members serve an average enrollment of 8,095 people with disabilities or disadvantages
- 1,791 individuals with a disability or other employment barrier were placed into community jobs
- MARC members had an estimated economic impact of $105 million during the last fiscal year
- MARC members paid $1,930,762 to supplement under-funded state programs for adults with disabilities
- In the region served by MARC members, there is a 50% higher occurrence of employment for adults with disabilities than the national average
